Down and Dirty- Boryeoung Mudfest and Jangsa beach party =awesome weekends!!!

So I have had some awesome weekends in a row. They involved the beach, so obviously I had a blast. After Busan, we had the Jangsa beach party. It rained almost the entire trip. So we started the party on the bus. Arrived in Jangsa, continued to party on the very rainy beach. We were sleeping in tents, there were tents to eat under, buy food under and hang out under. So pretty much we swam, danced and hung out in Jangsa. The next morning, we left around 10 am. Went to Caliente downtown and continued to hang out.

BORYEOUNG MUD FESTIVAL!!! This was a festival, everyone had been looking forward to since orientation. Mud in Boryeoung supposedly has some special properties which makes it good for the skin. So they made a festival out of it. It has turned into the largest foreigner festival in Korea. Waygook central. There are big inflatable mud slides, mud games, mud tug of war, races on inflatable mud moon bounces, mud wrestling, mud messages, colorful mud painting, regular mud painting, and so much more. Daecheon beach is also located right next to the festival. They had a stage set up for performances and water blasters. Saturday, we spent most of the day in the mud part. We went down to the beach to swim but back to the mud.

Sunday morning, Sophia and I woke up really early (5:45) so we got something to eat. Walked along the beach and took pictures. Later, I got colorful mud painted on my body. We spent most the day at the beach. They had a dock in the middle of the water, so we swam to it and jumped off it. We ended up running into alot of our friends, so we hung out, layed out, and swam. Maggie and I later decided to go into the mud. We didnt stay in too long because the bus back left at 4. Another great day!Best festival ever...coming up next week. JEEEP pool party.

Gyeongju. ,birthdays, Busan and July 4th!

some of my girls :)
So I have been slacking on my blog post, as do many. These are a few pictures from the last few weeks. I mean looking at pictures is wayyy better than reading, right? So a little background. We went to Gyeongju, a UNESCO city. What I thought Korea would look like when I came. Its very traditional. Even the gas stations have those cool Korean roofs. Turns out my co teacher Ji Yun is from Gyeongju.

Lets see, there have been 3/4 birthdays. Themed ofcourse. The first was for Nick (British) and Melt (South African) so you had to dress like you were from either of the two countries. I went South African with my friend Maggie. Maggies birthday, we went to dinner, the low key night out. Followed by Louises birthday in Busan (dress like your Korean). Then came the 4th of July. We had a potluck at MF bar. I sure did miss good old American foods.

I brought deviled eggs, because its not 4th without deviled eggs? Other foods included, pulled pork, chili, quesadillas, kool-aid, hot dogs, mac and cheese, peanut butter, grilled cheeses and jelly sandwiches, watermelon and many more. So basically my plate was stacked high. For those who know me, know my foods don't touch and on this occasion (very special) I had a pile of food. Okay so picture time (with captions).
